Staff Product Designer, Design Systems

The Staff Product Designer will lead the definition and design of the design system, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create high-quality user experiences at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define system strategy and architecture; create performant UI components, token strategies, scalable patterns; ensure parity between design environments and production code; and deliver accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA+)
• Design, prototype, and document components, tokens, UI patterns, and other design system aspects; while partnering closely with engineering for robust implementation
• Establish governance of design quality, UI standards, and brand integrity throughout the product lifecycle; enable contributions that empower to evolve the system without breaking coherence
• Manage the Design System as an internal product; proactively identify opportunities, defining the roadmap, prioritizing based on product team needs, and communicating updates to stakeholders
• Quantify and evangelize the value of the system; track and improve adoption rates, velocity, and design quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual interaction design & process
• Proficiency in design (primarily Figma), prototyping tools, and design system tooling (i.e. Storybook) and expertise in component architecture, design tokens, platform guidelines (iOS, Android), and accessibility standards
• Strong understanding and proven experience of user-centered design principles, end-to-end customer workflows and ability to transform new users into habitual users
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
