The Staff Product Designer will lead the definition and design of the design system, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user requirements. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create high-quality user experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Define system strategy and architecture; create performant UI components, token strategies, scalable patterns; ensure parity between design environments and production code; and deliver accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA+)
- Design, prototype, and document components, tokens, UI patterns, and other design system aspects; while partnering closely with engineering for robust implementation
- Establish governance of design quality, UI standards, and brand integrity throughout the product lifecycle; enable contributions that empower to evolve the system without breaking coherence
- Manage the Design System as an internal product; proactively identify opportunities, defining the roadmap, prioritizing based on product team needs, and communicating updates to stakeholders
- Quantify and evangelize the value of the system; track and improve adoption rates, velocity, and design quality
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual interaction design & process
- Proficiency in design (primarily Figma), prototyping tools, and design system tooling (i.e. Storybook) and expertise in component architecture, design tokens, platform guidelines (iOS, Android), and accessibility standards
- Strong understanding and proven experience of user-centered design principles, end-to-end customer workflows and ability to transform new users into habitual users
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
