Mechanical Design Engineering Manager
Jabil 🇹🇼 New Taipei, Taiwan
Lead and manage the electrical engineering department, focusing on recruitment, team development, and performance management. Oversee the design and development of equipment products while managing business strategy, costs, and technical project execution.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and hire team members for Electrical Engineering Department
- Communicate criteria to recruiters for Design Engineering position candidates
- Monitor team member turnover and identify key factors for improvement
- Create and validate training curriculum in area of responsibility
- Coach and mentor Electrical Design Engineering staff
- Establish clear measurable goals and objectives for team members
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members
- Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics
- Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises
- Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently
- Develop and manage succession plans for Design Engineering functions
- Select, develop, train, and supervise staff
- Analyze new components and development tools and provide guidance on their use
- Analyze technology trends, human resources needs, and market demand to plan projects
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- High performance orientation, detail orientation, market knowledge, and sound judgment
- Ability to build and leverage partnerships, implement change, and manage projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and e-mail skills
- Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages in an integrated system such as SAP
- Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in one or multiple products of Server, Storage, and Data Center Switch systems
