UI/UX Designer

The UI/UX Designer will translate complex operational requirements into intuitive user experiences for mission-critical applications. Responsibilities include conducting user research, developing wireframes and prototypes, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research with military personnel, analysts, and government stakeholders to understand their unique operational needs, workflows, and pain points
• Analyze research to create user personas and journey maps that accurately reflect the high-stakes environment of DARPA users
• Develop wireframes, user flows, and prototypes for complex, data-heavy applications used in mission-critical scenarios
• Design visually clear and highly functional user interfaces that adhere to Section 508 accessibility standards and relevant military human factors guidelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field
• 7+ years of full-time work experience, including 5+ years of current applicable experience in DoD
• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably with projects for the DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), or other federal agencies
• A strong portfolio demonstrating experience with complex data visualization, dashboard design, and applications for expert users
• Demonstrable experience designing and testing products for Section 508 compliance
