The Data Visualization & Graphic Designer will create compelling graphics and infographics to communicate complex data effectively. They will collaborate with various teams to ensure visual materials align with branding and enhance storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Design visually appealing graphics, infographics, and layouts that communicate complex information clearly and attractively
- Develop style guides and templates to ensure consistency across all visual materials
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and product teams to align visuals with branding and messaging
- Translate data sets into meaningful and interactive visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, D3.js, or Adobe Illustrator
- Create compelling infographics for internal and external communications, reports, and presentations
- Balance aesthetic design with data integrity to deliver persuasive and truthful narratives
- Adapt visuals for various formats including print, digital, and social media
- Work closely with data analysts, researchers, and stakeholders to understand visualization needs
- Iterate on design concepts based on feedback and usability testing
- Stay current with trends in data visualization, graphic design, and storytelling techniques
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in graphic design with a focus on data visualization and infographics
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and data viz platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or programming libraries (e.g., D3.js, Plotly)
- Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, color theory, typography, and layout design
- Ability to interpret and simplify complex data into clear visual stories
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
