ICT Design Engineer, DC Design Engineering

You will develop physical layer solutions, including pathway, space, and cabling designs for data center infrastructure. Additionally, you will collaborate with suppliers and onsite teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with construction standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop pathway, space, and cabling designs and specifications for construction and permitting
• Engage with industry suppliers and manufacturers to define product requirements and explore emerging technologies
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber‑optic and copper plant designs and specifications
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals
• Identify and rapidly respond to risks and high‑priority issues
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and shorten installation time
• Travel 20%+ to review projects and coordinate with on‑site personnel and contractors at AWS data centers
• Provide creative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions to design challenges

Requirements

• 2+ years of infrastructure, construction, or data‑center operations experience with hands‑on ICT/structured cabling/telecommunications physical‑layer design
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering for mission‑critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil & gas
• Experience commissioning ICT/telecommunications infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
• Knowledge of building codes and regional regulations
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data‑center equipment and facilities
• Ability to carry design concepts from exploration through deployment or mass production
• Proficiency reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
