Head of design and manufacturing

You will lead the design and manufacturing department, establishing the first pilot production line and scaling it to full factory operations. This role involves recruiting your own team, managing subcontractors, and ensuring high-quality assembly processes for complex mechanical products.

Responsibilities

• Set up the first pilot line with in‑house built machines, including design methods, quality control, subcontractor selection and assembly processes
• Work directly with the leadership team and the software team that builds internal tools
• Recruit, hire and build your own production team from day one
• Grow the pilot line into a full‑scale factory as Sorontar moves toward series production

Requirements

• Specialized in design or production with exposure to the opposite discipline
• Proven ability to take complex mechanical products from prototype to series production
• Experience setting up or transforming an organization and leading an engineering team
• Fluent in French and English
• Experience with high‑rate or automated production (automotive, consumer electronics) is a plus
• Experience designing production machines, composite or additive manufacturing, and defense is a plus
