Head of Design and Manufacturing

You will lead the design and manufacturing department, setting up and optimizing the pilot production line and factory operations. You are responsible for recruiting your team and collaborating with leadership and software teams to integrate internal tools into the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Set up the first pilot production line using in‑house built machines, defining design methods, quality control, subcontractor selection, and assembly processes
• Continuously improve the pilot line by collaborating with leadership and the software team that builds internal tools
• Recruit and build a dedicated team from day one
• Scale the pilot line into a full‑scale factory as the company moves toward series production

Requirements

• Specialized experience in design or production with cross‑disciplinary knowledge
• Proven ability to take complex mechanical products from prototype to series production
• Experience setting up or transforming an organization and leading an engineering team
• Fluency in French and English
• Experience with high‑rate or automated production (e.g., automotive or consumer electronics) – a plus
• Experience designing production machines – a plus
• Knowledge of composite or additive manufacturing – a plus
• Experience in defense – a plus
• At least one professional experience; early‑career candidates considered based on degrees and training
• Owner mindset, mission focus, result‑driven attitude, fact‑based decision making
