Principal Design Technologist, AWS Search, Security, Observability, & Governance

The Principal Design Technologist will serve as a technical advisor to innovate and validate novel interaction models for AWS SSOG. They will build high-fidelity prototypes and translate them into production-ready components for the Rhythm design system.
Responsibilities
- Advise the Director of Design on technical feasibility of emerging interaction models
- Prototype and validate agentic interaction patterns such as graduated autonomy and stepâlevel replay
- Develop productionâready Rhythm components on AWS Core
- Build tooling and systems to scale interaction patterns across multiple products
- Mentor designers and raise the technical bar across the organization
Requirements
- Demonstrated portfolio of productionâgrade interfaces for complex, dataâdense products
- Expert frontâend engineering skills (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS)
- Experience building and scaling designâsystem components
- Ability to translate novel interaction concepts into shippable patterns
- Staff/Principalâlevel experience as a design technologist or similar role
