Konstruktionsleiter / Head of Design (m/w/d)

Lead the mechanical design function for machinery and plant engineering, with overall technical responsibility for quality and the development of a 15-person team. Plan and deliver design projects from concept through commissioning, coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments, and continuously improve design standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assume overall technical responsibility for mechanical design in machine and plant construction, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of 15 engineers, providing both functional and disciplinary direction and fostering professional development
• Plan, control and execute complex design projects from concept through commissioning
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders
• Manage interfaces with project management, production and sales departments
• Continuously develop design standards, norms and guidelines

Requirements

• Completed studies in Mechanical Engineering or comparable technical qualification
• Extensive leadership experience (minimum 10 direct reports) in mechanical design within machine or plant engineering
• Proven expertise in machine design and use of software such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault
• Strong analytical and structured work approach
• Excellent technical understanding
• Leadership, teamwork and communication skills
• Fluent English, both spoken and written
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed
• Valid German work permit (for non‑EU applicants) and sufficient German language skills
