You will be responsible for the end-to-end product development process, from initial design and technical drawings to production oversight. This includes managing supplier relationships, conducting fittings, and ensuring high-quality standards for outdoor apparel.
Responsibilities
- Create design sketches and technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator
- Develop collection concepts from sketch to finished product
- Research trends, competitors and materials for new products
- Define colour, material and ingredient concepts with Head of Product
- Prepare tech packs, BOMs and size/grade tables
- Assess prototypes and fittings, generate correction sheets
- Evaluate test reports (pilling, abrasion, water resistance) and ensure compliance with standards
- Communicate with suppliers in English, manage schedules and cost estimates
- Handle sample approval, quality checks and production releases
- Resolve complaints and work with manufacturers on solutions
- Visit suppliers in Asia and Europe as needed
- Contribute to PLM implementation and structured product data management
Requirements
- Degree in clothing/textile engineering or fashion design with technical focus, or equivalent apprenticeship
- ≈3 years experience in design and product development, preferably outdoor or sportswear
- Strong portfolio showing design and technical execution
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator for technical sketches
- Experience with tech packs, BOMs, grading and fit evaluation
- Fluent English and German
- Independent, initiative‑driven work style
- Bonus: pattern‑making skills, CLO3D, functional materials, PLM systems, on‑site production support
