You will design physical packaging, transport solutions, and ergonomic hardware layouts for high-tech simulation systems. Additionally, you will create 3D CAD models and blueprints for training room environments while collaborating with hardware integration teams.
Responsibilities
- Design custom ruggedized transport cases with CADāmodeled foam inlays
- Develop ergonomic hardware layouts and cableāmanagement solutions for simulators
- Blueprint physical trainingāroom environments tailored to customer facilities
- Create 3D CAD models, technical drawings and physical prototypes of hardware setups
- Collaborate with Hardware Integration and Operations teams to ensure durability and manufacturability
- Select materials that meet defenseāgrade durability and aesthetic standards
- Support field engineers with deployable design documentation
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years handsāon experience in physical product design, industrial design, or hardware packaging
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino, FusionāÆ360, AutoCAD)
- Proven experience designing custom enclosures, transport cases and cableāmanagement solutions
- Ability to create detailed technical drawings and physical prototypes
- Fluent English (C1); German language skills advantageous
