UX Researcher, E-Commerce - USDS

Research consumer needs and behaviors across e-commerce markets, translating findings into actionable design recommendations and product strategy. Plan and conduct quantitative and qualitative studies, support survey and statistical work, and measure the impact of design changes over time.

Responsibilities

• Partner with designers, product, engineering, and marketing to understand consumer needs and translate them into research questions and design directions
• Own research planning, selecting appropriate methods, timelines, and resources
• Design and conduct quantitative (and some qualitative) studies, synthesize findings into actionable insights and design recommendations
• Initiate foundational research, maintain long‑term trackers, and benchmark against industry trends
• Provide technical support for quantitative workstreams, including survey design, data processing, and statistical analysis
• Measure impact of design changes over time using data‑driven methods
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure insights inform product and experience strategy

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of combined experience in UX research or Data Science, preferably in e‑commerce or tech
• Ability to deliver end‑to‑end consumer experience work including strategy, design, validation, and measurement
• Experience with statistical tools/languages such as SQL, Python, R, or SPSS
• Familiarity with analytics/experiment platforms for impact measurement
• Portfolio or case studies demonstrating research‑informed design outcomes
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field is preferred
• Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
• Strong storytelling and communication skills for non‑technical stakeholders
