Senior Staff Product Designer - AI

Lead design for Deel’s AI products and define how AI experiences—including chat actions, agent workflows, notifications, and human-in-the-loop interactions—work across the platform. Establish reusable design standards, help other teams integrate AI, maintain quality through research and dogfooding, and mentor designers.

Responsibilities

• Set design direction for AI experiences across the platform, including in‑chat actions, agent workflows, proactive notifications, and human‑in‑the‑loop moments
• Create clear AI design standards and reusable patterns together with the design system team
• Assist other product teams in identifying where AI can add value and guide their implementation
• Conduct user research, competitor analysis, and regular dogfooding of AI products to maintain high quality
• Mentor junior designers and help grow the AI design practice
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners such as sales, risk, compliance, and engineering

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience, including 3+ years at Staff level or higher
• Deep experience designing AI products such as conversational UX, agents, copilots, and automation
• Track record of shipping at least one AI feature from concept to launch with measurable results
• Excellent design craft and a portfolio with at least one detailed case study
• Proficiency with AI tools and staying current on AI releases
• Ability to think in systems and work with ML engineers on error states and confidence thresholds
• Comfort with fast-paced decision making and independent ownership
