Founding Product Designer
Clerk Remote (🇺🇸 San Francisco, California, United States of America)
Define the product design vision and lead end-to-end experiences across trading, margin, prediction markets, liquidity management, and related financial workflows. Build scalable design practices and systems, use research and product metrics to improve outcomes, and partner with product, engineering, and other teams to deliver trustworthy products.
Responsibilities
- Define product design vision, principles, and strategic priorities in partnership with product, engineering, and business leadership
- Own end‑to‑end user experience for trading, margin, prediction markets, liquidity management, and related financial applications
- Lead design of critical user journeys such as onboarding, funding, market discovery, order entry, portfolio management, risk communication, and error recovery
- Create prototypes, conduct usability testing, and ensure high‑quality implementation of designs
- Build and evolve a scalable design system covering charts, tables, order entry, notifications, and risk UI patterns
- Establish research processes that combine user interviews, usability studies, analytics, feedback, and competitive analysis
- Partner with engineering to understand system architecture, latency, data dependencies, security, and technical constraints
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, security, marketing, and business development teams to launch products responsibly
- Define measurable design success metrics tied to activation, conversion, trading performance, retention, and user trust
- Mentor designers, set design standards, and foster a collaborative, experimental culture
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience with leadership responsibilities
- Strong portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design, strategic thinking, and measurable impact
- Experience designing trading, fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, or other high‑stakes financial products
- Deep understanding of financial markets, trading workflows, and related technologies
- Proven product judgment and ability to influence strategy and prioritization
- Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, user research, and systems thinking
- Experience creating and scaling design systems and processes
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into intuitive user experiences
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements
- Nice to Have: experience with decentralized finance, AI integration, regulatory environments, or prior founder/entrepreneurial experience
