UX Designer Especialista | Remoto

Set the product-wide design direction and lead strategic initiatives, including a full product redesign and the design system’s architecture, governance, and adoption. Coordinate and contribute to cross-functional design work, conduct research and validation, mentor designers, and promote effective use of AI in design and product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and own strategic design and usability decisions for Astrea, establishing principles, patterns and guidelines for all squads
• Lead end‑to‑end product redesigns, including vision, concept, information architecture, interaction patterns and incremental delivery plans
• Translate product strategy into design direction and present rationales and trade‑offs to leadership, GPMs, PMs and Engineering
• Act as guardian of the design system: strategy, component architecture, documentation, governance, roadmap and adoption metrics
• Ensure design system implementation with engineering, using Figma as the source of truth and providing clear hand‑off
• Integrate accessibility and usability standards into components and flows
• Plan and execute transversal projects with squad designers, allocating work, reviewing deliverables and maintaining consistency
• Create high‑fidelity UI prototypes and flows for critical project moments
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, usability tests and validation to inform design decisions
• Facilitate workshops, alignment sessions and ideation/ prioritization activities across squads
• Run design critiques and reviews, mentor designers on technical development, and support GPMs with design feedback
• Participate in design hiring processes, evaluating case studies and technical interviews
• Lead the use of AI in design and product, defining experience patterns for AI‑driven features such as assistants and automation
• Disseminate AI design best practices throughout the team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design or related field
• Solid experience in Product Design/UX at senior level or above
• Proven track record leading technical design projects such as redesigns or design systems
• Deep knowledge of design systems: tokens, components, documentation, governance and adoption
• Expertise in UX/UI: information architecture, interaction design, visual hierarchy, usability heuristics and accessibility
• Experience with user research and validation (interviews, usability testing, data analysis) and evidence‑based decision making
• Ability to influence decisions without formal authority and communicate with senior leadership
• Experience mentoring designers and conducting critiques or design reviews
• Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, variables, libraries)
• Experience using AI tools in design (e.g., Lovable, Replit, Figma AI)
• Close collaboration with engineering and understanding of translating components to code
• Portfolio demonstrating design rationale and impact
