Engineering Design Manager, Global Building Design Risk and Recovery (GBDR)

Lead full-lifecycle MEP design and engineering for industrial and logistics projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and the NCC/BCA. Manage cross-functional teams and technical documentation from concept through construction to deliver high-quality infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design all electrical systems for industrial, commercial and mixedâuse projects ensuring compliance with Australian codes and NCC/BCA
- Design highâvoltage substations (11âŻkV/33âŻkV), zone reticulation networks and transformer installations
- Perform protection relay coordination and liaise with DNSPs such as AusGrid, Energex and SA Power Networks
- Size and detail LV distribution, switchboards, motor control centres and perform cable sizing calculations
- Conduct load analysis, harmonic analysis and design of VSD configurations using ETAP or PowerFactory
- Design emergency power systems including diesel generators, UPS and ATS arrangements
- Develop industrial lighting designs, DALI controls and energy compliance reports for large warehouses
- Create earthing, lightning protection and hazardous area classifications
- Design warehouse power distribution, EV charging, dock leveller and conveyor power feeds
- Author electrical design standards, specifications and method of measurement clauses
- Coordinate secondary disciplines (HVAC, fire, plumbing, ELV) and produce BIM models using Revit MEP and Navisworks
- Lead 3D clash detection, BIM coordination and prepare authority submission documents
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years working directly with engineering teams
- 5+ years technical program management with software engineering teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency with ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools for load flow and protection coordination
- Experience with lighting and energy modelling tools such as DIALux evo and Relux
- CAD & BIM skills: AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC
- Knowledge of HVAC and hydraulics tools like Carrier HAP, IESâVE, EnergyPlus
- Strong understanding of current Australian wiring, cable selection, and NCC/BCA standards
