Home Goods Product Designer & Developer – Home Décor

Design and develop commercially relevant home décor products and cohesive collections, from trend research and initial concepts through specifications, sampling, and production-ready designs. Collaborate with internal teams and overseas factories, using AI-assisted tools and strong material knowledge to deliver high-quality work across multiple projects and tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, design and develop home décor products and cohesive collections from inspiration to production‑ready specifications
- Research and forecast emerging trends in colour, materials, finishes and consumer preferences
- Create mood boards, colour palettes, material stories and presentation decks to convey design direction
- Utilize AI‑powered tools to accelerate concept generation, visualizations and design variations
- Prepare detailed design files, specifications, dimensions and material selections for sampling
- Collaborate with production teams and overseas manufacturers to review samples, refine details and ensure accurate execution
- Work closely with merchandising, sales and management to align collections with market needs and business objectives
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of professional experience designing and developing home décor products
- Strong portfolio showcasing original product designs and successful collections
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and product visualization tools
- Ability to conduct trend research, create mood boards and material stories
- Knowledge of materials such as ceramic, glass, wood, metal, resin and textiles
- Experience collaborating with overseas factories and managing sampling iterations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Comfort using AI‑assisted design tools
