Academic Learning Design Lead - BEng System Design Engineering (UK)

Lead the academic design and development of high-quality modules within the Virtual Learning Environment. Collaborate with academic and professional teams to create engaging, inclusive, and innovative learning experiences aligned with the PED model.

Responsibilities

• Lead academic design of assigned modules aligning with learning outcomes and the PED model
• Facilitate kick‑off meetings, design workshops, sprints and sign‑off processes
• Develop online lessons with interactive and multimedia elements
• Design authentic, inclusive assessment tasks with feedback focus
• Manage progress, meet deadlines and flag risks early
• Ensure quality through review with Academic Reviewers
• Engage in professional development to stay current on digital pedagogy and emerging technologies

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years experience designing or delivering online/blended learning modules
• Strong written communication skills
• Knowledge of inclusive and accessible design principles (WCAG 2.2)
• Experience with Moodle, Padlet, Mentidor, H5P or willingness to learn
• Ability to create interactive, multimedia‑rich learning experiences
• Agile, sprint‑based working experience
