Assistant Design Manager

Support the Design Manager with design contract administration, project coordination, meetings, documentation, design reviews, and review of RFIs, submittals, and other construction-phase materials. Coordinate A/E team site visits and investigations, assist with scopes of work and cost estimates, and help ensure compliance and communication among the Smithsonian, contractors, and project stakeholders.

• Support the Design Manager with design contract administration, project coordination, meetings, documentation, design reviews, and review of RFIs, submittals, and other construction-phase materials. Coordinate A/E team site visits and investigations, assist with scopes of work and cost estimates, and help ensure compliance and communication among the Smithsonian, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline is required, along with 5–10 years of relevant experience in design or construction management, architecture, engineering, or project administration. Candidates should have strong coordination, communication, document-control, and construction-process knowledge; OSHA 30 and professional credentials such as CCM, PMP, LEED, AIA, RA, or PE are preferred.
