Design Manager, EMEA Portfolio, Design, Sustainability & Engineering

Lead and oversee design for post-occupancy workplace improvements, small and medium new sites, and expansions across Amazonâs EMEA portfolio, coordinating with regional teams, vendors, and architects. Use operational data and customer insights to refine workplace designs, contribute to global guidelines, and improve workspace quality, resilience, efficiency, health, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design of postâoccupancy tenant improvement projects and small/medium new site expansions
- Lead space design based on customer needs and technical requirements
- Collaborate with external/vendor design teams (Architect of Record) on larger projects
- Align project designs with the overall Corporate Workplace concept and translate elements into global guidelines
- Identify and implement continuous design refinements using operational data and customer insights
- Work crossâfunctionally with regional peers, sustainability, EHS, and travel & events teams
- Maintain relationships with external industry bodies and adopt new standards and technologies
- Develop visuals and narratives for guidelines after project delivery
- Drive process improvement initiatives related to workplace design
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Experience defining program requirements and using data/metrics for improvements
- Project and program management experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills across all organizational levels
- Knowledge of key technology and market trends
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to build constructive relationships and navigate complex situations
