Manage and coordinate project design from tender through construction, ensuring proposals meet client requirements, technical standards, budget, safety, quality, and programme objectives. Lead design teams and suppliers, manage deliverables and BIM information, resolve design interfaces, support value engineering and buildability, and maintain effective client and project-team relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage development and implementation of design proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements, budgets and regulatory standards
- Deliver safe, highâquality, costâeffective designs with attention to maintenance, energy efficiency and environmental impact
- Maintain design records, track submissions and approvals, and ensure compliance with TD and client standards
- Lead external designers and suppliers, managing scope, cost and programme
- Facilitate design team meetings, workshops and stageâgate reviews
- Provide buildability advice and apply valueâengineering throughout the design phase
- Oversee BIM management, common data environments and digital protocols
- Coordinate with client capital delivery and operational teams, managing expectations and communication
- Ensure CDM duties are met by all parties
Requirements
- Proven experience managing design services at tender and construction stages
- Experience on multiâdiscipline contracts within water, process or similar industries
- Strong technical construction knowledge and understanding of CDM regulations
- Competent user of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience with BIM and common data environments
- Degree in engineering or construction (desirable) and professional membership (e.g., IMechE, MCIWEM) is a plus
- Ability to lead, communicate and coordinate with clients, designers and subcontractors
