Finance Manager, Worldwide Design Engineering

Develop ROI and NPV models to guide building design decisions across Amazon’s worldwide fulfillment network, and assess the financial and network impacts of proposed design changes. Lead financial reviews, improve modeling processes, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and support team development and Finance-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop financial analysis, ROI and NPV models driving design decisions across the Worldwide Operations Fulfillment network
• Collaborate with Operations teams to evaluate key inputs that support benefits of proposed building design modifications
• Identify and drive process enhancements to financial models and lead efforts to model new building types
• Partner to evaluate network impacts of design decisions and think critically about future infrastructure
• Facilitate and lead financial review meetings with partner business teams across Operations
• Provide constructive dialogue, harmonize conflicting views, and lead resolution of issues and decisions
• Recruit and mentor finance talent, promote diversity and inclusion initiatives, and support professional development
• Contribute to work‑life harmony and act as a positive influencer of operational excellence

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, math, or computer science
• 5+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical experience
• 5+ years of leading cross‑functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy
• 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy
• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root cause, and creating escalation plans
• 6+ years of delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven business impact
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL and experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos)
• Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
