Sr. Industrial Design Engineer, GES NA Design Engineering

The engineer will lead the development of next-generation sortation and transportation systems by collaborating with internal and external teams on design and process solutions. They are responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring cost-effective designs, and driving consistent engineering standards across the North American network.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative, low‑capex solutions that are safe and boost productivity for fulfillment, sortation and transportation networks
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout and IP considerations
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while influencing, negotiating and communicating with business partners, contractors and vendors
• Understand mechanical, electrical and controls requirements, evaluate solutions and balance business value with technology risk
• Assist customers and engineering teams in making trade‑offs based on business goals, throughput, quality, efficiency, maintainability and operability
• Identify standards and ensure consistent application of engineering changes across North America
• Build strong relationships with fulfillment center and sort center leadership, industrial engineering, maintenance engineering and process engineering stakeholders
• Transform raw ideas into clear technical documentation and present compelling business cases to senior executives

Requirements

• 5+ years of design and innovation, research & development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Experience managing engineering design projects
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
• Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, dynamics, statistical and reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, high‑speed manufacturing, and design‑in‑safety
