Sr. Product Designer - Design System

The role involves maintaining and evolving the design system while ensuring visual and functional consistency across the platform. Additionally, the designer will work within a product vertical to design complex end-to-end flows and validate improvements using product metrics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve the design system – components, tokens, patterns and documentation – to ensure visual and functional consistency across the platform
- Collaborate closely with the visual identity team to align the system with the brand
- Coordinate priorities and decisions with product, engineering and branding stakeholders
- Evangelize design‑system usage, provide support, answer questions and guide adoption across squads
- Define and communicate usage guidelines and contribution processes for designers and developers
- Audit product consistency, identify deviations and prioritize remediation
- Document design decisions and patterns for frictionless team consumption
- Generate ideas from complex briefs, propose hypothesis‑driven improvements and validate them with product metrics
- Design end‑to‑end complex flows, anticipating errors, empty states and edge cases
- Use product metrics to prioritize improvements and tie user outcomes to business results
Requirements
- 4+ years designing digital products
- Experience leading or co‑leading a design system, including governance, documentation and cross‑team adoption
- Hands‑on experience building and contributing to component libraries, design tokens and visual consistency across screens
- Proven ability to design complex end‑to‑end flows with autonomy
- Strong stakeholder alignment skills across design, engineering and branding
- Ability to generate ideas from ambiguous briefs and spot hidden opportunities
- Advanced Figma skills with components, variables and shared libraries
- Experience documenting design systems in Storybook, Zeroheight or similar
- Proficiency with Notion or Confluence for guidelines and decision logs
- Experience with prototyping and product analytics
