The Primary Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, construction, and maintenance of physical infrastructure, including geotechnical and structural design for equipment. They also manage departmental operations, lead technical teams, and ensure projects meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Support planning, construction and maintenance of physical and natural environments, including soil mechanics, seismic analysis and foundations for GE Vernova equipment
- Specify design and requirements for underground and above‑ground civil works and select contractors
- Conduct cost estimates, constructability reviews and sequencing
- Apply local building codes and principles of structural steel, concrete, timber and masonry
- Perform analysis and design of industrial structures subjected to static and dynamic loads
- Lead small projects with limited risk and resources, mentor less‑experienced colleagues
- Utilize internal and limited external resources for decision‑making and ensure design integration
Requirements
- Advanced experience in the technical discipline equivalent to a bachelor's degree or higher
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Capability to influence and lead small teams
- Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective problem‑identification and resolution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational competence
