Data Center Structural Engineer, AMER Design Engineering - East Regional Team

The structural engineer will design resilient and cost-effective data center facilities while providing technical guidance to the design team. They are responsible for reviewing milestone drawings, solving large-scale implementation issues, and defining structural design requirements for global infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for structural design of prototypical AWS data center facilities
• Provide technical guidance to team members and review milestone drawings from consultants
• Solve large‑scale implementation issues and evaluate constructability of new technologies
• Perform design and calculations for auxiliary framing systems and non‑structural components such as cable trays, conduits, and equipment platforms
• Conduct value engineering and business case analysis to reduce costs while maintaining quality and reliability
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, security, and efficiency of data center designs

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 7+ years experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects
• 5+ years designing Data Centers, Mission Critical, Hospital, Schools, Commercial or Residential Tower facilities
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC and ASCE
