Partner with business owners, engineering, and compliance stakeholders to define problems and ensure designs meet federal usability and accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for priority digital products and forms
- Partner with business owners, engineering, and compliance/legal stakeholders to define problems and align priorities
- Create draft specifications, interaction notes, screen states, and expected behaviors for senior design leadership review
- Provide structured handoffs to engineering with acceptance criteria grounded in user research
- Identify, document, and escalate usability, accessibility, and consistency issues
- Iterate designs based on stakeholder and user feedback throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of product design experience translating complex technical requirements into clear user experiences
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Mural)
- Experience preparing detailed design specifications for engineering handoff
- Experience identifying and documenting usability and accessibility issues
