Mechanical Project Engineer, Project Execution, Design Engineering Quality

You will own and execute the mechanical design of automated fulfillment center projects, managing subsystems from concept through installation. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers to ensure project standards and quality are met.

Responsibilities

• Develop subsystem layouts for automated material handling systems
• Select and specify conveyors and related equipment
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers
• Create 3D models and manage clash detection
• Manage mechanical engineering deliverables, schedules, and quality
• Lead on‑site construction coordination and resolve layout conflicts
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work
• Perform system and component calculations
• Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards
• Document decisions and produce installation packages

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 2+ years of Amazon experience or similar fast‑paced environment
• Experience with material handling equipment
• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360)
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities
