Design Engineer, North America AMZL Design Engineering

The Design Engineer will drive delivery station process, building design, and standardization across the North America Last Mile delivery network. They are responsible for optimizing material flow, equipment placement, and site layouts to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop building layouts, material flow, labor placement, and conveyor systems for delivery stations
• Create and release design packages for new stations and capacity upgrades
• Collaborate with architects, real‑estate, finance, and engineering teams to integrate designs
• Standardize design practices and implement new design templates across the network
• Lead continuous improvement and benchmark studies for station design
• Support on‑site implementation, conduct surveys, and resolve field issues
• Travel up to 25% to support complex design projects

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an industrial, operations, manufacturing, or project engineer
• Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project)
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
