The Graphic Designer Associate creates visually engaging and pedagogically effective design solutions for educational materials and digital platforms. They collaborate with instructional designers and subject-matter experts to produce graphics, videos, animations, and interactive elements that support learning objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce visuals for online, asynchronous, and blended courses, including illustrations, infographics, images, video, animations, 2D/3D assets, games, and simulations
- Incorporate feedback and revise visual products to meet client requirements
- Determine cost‑effective methods for creating artwork that enhances subject matter
- Assist collaborators in meeting deadlines throughout the creative and project‑management process
- Develop engaging visual content within Learning Management System modules
- Combine graphics with type to optimize learning experiences in line with multimedia learning principles
- Collaborate with video specialists, instructional designers, and subject‑matter experts to solve teaching challenges
- Update and redesign existing course visuals as needed
- Stay current with industry tools, trends, and accessibility standards
Requirements
- At least 36 months of college coursework in graphic/visual arts or a related degree
- 12 months of progressive graphic design work experience equivalent to Graphic Designer Assistant level
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, video production tools, and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition
- Knowledge of ADA/WCAG accessibility standards and instructional design principles
- Web development skills (HTML5, CSS3) and experience with LMS platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
