Student- UI/UX Designer – Education 2 Impact (e2i) Program

The UI/UX Design Project Team Member will conduct user research, create personas, and design intuitive digital products including wireframes and prototypes. They will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility and maintain design systems while adhering to accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, define personas, and create user journey maps/flows
• Design low‑ to high‑fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
• Establish or maintain scalable design systems, component libraries, and UI style guides
• Plan and conduct usability tests, using feedback to iterate on design solutions
• Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and clients to ensure design feasibility and smooth handoff
• Apply web accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices across desktop and mobile interfaces
• Manage design deliverables, balance project priorities, and meet key deadline milestones

Requirements

• Current UVU student, preferably in Web Design & Development, Digital Media, Computer Science, or related field
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines
• Experience with primary UI/UX design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch)
• Understanding of user‑centered design methodology, design systems, and visual communication
• Basic understanding of front‑end capabilities (HTML/CSS) and responsive frameworks is a plus
