Senior UX Designer, Kiro

The Senior UX Designer will lead the end-to-end design process for the Kiro platform, focusing on creating intuitive workflows for developers interacting with autonomous AI agents. This role involves conducting user research, developing concept models, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to shape the future of agentic software development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and synthesize research to build mental models of developers using agentic tools
• Create ecosystem maps, concept models, user stories, journey frameworks and experience principles
• Own end‑to‑end design for major features across IDE, CLI, Web, Mobile and Kiro Crew
• Design UX for spec‑driven development, autonomous mode, parallel agents and verification workflows
• Iterate rapidly and prototype at appropriate fidelity from sketches to high‑fidelity interactive prototypes
• Design cohesive experiences across desktop, terminal, browser, mobile and open‑source surfaces
• Partner with product management and engineering to influence strategy and advocate for customers
• Mentor junior designers and define scalable design patterns

Requirements

• 7+ years of design experience
• 3+ years working with or evaluating AI systems
• Strong portfolio demonstrating audience research and early‑stage design thinking
• Experience designing complex, multi‑step workflows across multiple platforms
• Proficiency with a variety of design, wire‑framing and prototyping tools
• Experience designing developer tools, IDEs, command‑line or open‑source experiences (preferred)
• Ability to adapt design processes based on problem context
