Director of Product Designer

The Director of Product Design will own the end-to-end design craft, quality, and design systems for mobile and web surfaces. They will partner with leadership to influence the product roadmap and represent the voice of the customer through direct field research.

Responsibilities

• Own product craft and quality, ensuring consistency, polish, and delight
• Build and maintain a scalable design system, patterns, and principles
• Design mobile and web app surfaces as well as AI interactions
• Rapidly prototype ideas using AI tooling and iterate with the team
• Plan and execute user research, including in‑person visits and ride‑alongs
• Represent the customer voice in internal debates and roadmap decisions
• Partner with senior leadership and the CEO to frame problems and set product direction
• Raise design standards across product managers and engineers

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience with measurable impact
• Exceptional interaction and visual design craftsmanship
• Proficiency with AI‑native design tools and ability to prototype with code
• Strong systems thinking and attention to detail (e.g., 4 px decisions)
• Customer‑obsessed mindset; willingness to spend time in the field
• Credibility with senior leadership and ability to influence strategy
• Experience mentoring or leading designers (preferred but not required)
