Product Design Engineering Intern

The intern will support the engineering team by designing customer-specific cable solutions and improving manufacturing processes using mechanical and industrial engineering principles. They will also manage procurement for production tooling and develop improved systems for engineering change management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop customer‑specific cable solution packages and detailed assembly drawings using SolidWorks
• Evaluate assembly cell operations and design improved fixtures and jigs to boost productivity, safety and quality
• Source and manage procurement for fixtures and jigs, including vendor quotations and purchase requests
• Research best practices and create an improved document coordination system for Engineering Change Management
• Develop project timelines, provide progress updates, and present final deliverables at a senior leadership expo

Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent program
• Reliable transportation to work site
• Strong organization, planning and analytical skills
• Effective oral and written communication
• Teamwork experience
• Interest in sustainability and process improvement
