Lead the art direction and product design strategy to elevate the brand image for soft home goods. Oversee the entire design process from concept to final product while managing a team of creatives and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement design strategy aligned with brand vision and business goals
- Oversee end‑to‑end design process from concept to final product, ensuring trend‑right, on‑brand outcomes
- Lead art direction, tone and manner, graphics, and presentation formats
- Motivate and inspire a team of creatives, fostering a culture of innovation
- Conduct research on fashion trends, market competition, and consumer insights
- Collaborate with product development, merchandising, production, and sales teams
- Ensure high‑quality prototypes and samples meet design specifications
- Explore new design techniques, materials, and technologies to keep the line industry‑leading
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in soft home‑goods design
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a design team
- Experience developing presentations for major retailers (Ross, Home Goods, TJX, Macy’s, JCP, Costco)
- Experience with fabric, embroidery, dyeing/printing processes and overseas supplier coordination
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
