The Junior Design Manager will participate in the design of building projects using BIM methodology and industrialized construction techniques. They will also manage relationships with external collaborators, clients, and administrative bodies while ensuring sustainability and efficiency standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the design team for residential building projects using BIM methodology and tools
- Develop highly industrialised design components (componentisation, DFMA) with wood as the primary material
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners (MEP engineering, structural engineering, etc.) and with clients, authorities and OCT
- Monitor implementation of sustainability, energy efficiency and health standards in projects
- Manage the licensing process and other administrative procedures for construction permits
- Work within a functional‑and‑cost oriented design workflow
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and support decision‑making
- Produce technical documentation and visualisations for client presentations
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in drafting architectural projects
- Proficient in using Revit for project design
- Knowledge of current Spanish residential building regulations
- Experience with the process of obtaining building permits and other administrative procedures
- Ability to work with a functional and cost‑focused approach
- Strong teamwork and client‑interaction skills
- Technical knowledge of traditional construction systems and interest in new industrialised systems
- Willingness to focus career on industrialisation and sustainability
- Negotiation‑level English is a plus
- Specific knowledge of VPO, BTS and BTR is valued
- Experience in site supervision and direction
- Understanding of sustainable construction (passive design, energy efficiency, health)
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Familiarity with Agile management tools such as Trello and Scrum
