M&E Design Manager

Lead and mentor the M&E design team while overseeing the delivery of coordinated designs from concept to completion. Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, statutory regulations, and sector-specific requirements for healthcare and education environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers
- Allocate resources across multiple projects and ensure programme delivery
- Oversee production and coordination of M&E designs from concept to completion
- Review and approve drawings, calculations, specifications and submissions
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with project managers, commercial teams and external consultants
- Drive technical excellence, value engineering and innovation
- Maintain quality assurance processes and manage technical risks
- Support health, safety, environmental and quality objectives
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager or Design Manager in M&E
- Strong background delivering M&E projects in healthcare and education sectors
- In‑depth knowledge of HTM standards, NHS guidance and education design requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM environments
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
