UI/UX Designer

The UI/UX Designer is responsible for creating accessible, responsive, and user-centered interfaces for a large-scale federal technology platform. This includes translating wireframes into production-ready components using React and ensuring strict compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement responsive, accessible, userâfriendly interfaces
- Translate wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs into productionâready frontâend components
- Develop interfaces using a modern frontâend framework such as React
- Write and maintain CSS and related code for consistent responsive experiences
- Ensure compliance with SectionâŻ508 and WCAG standards
- Identify and remediate accessibility issues
- Build and enhance reusable UI components and designâsystem assets
- Collaborate with HumanâCentered Design specialists, product owners, and backâend developers
- Support usability testing and implement approved improvements
- Participate in Agile planning, design reviews, and demonstrations
- Leverage AIâassisted tools to improve frontâend development and code quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional frontâend or UI development experience
- Experience with modern frontâend frameworks (e.g., React)
- Proficiency in CSS and responsive layout development
- Ability to apply SectionâŻ508 and WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience translating designs and wireframes into production code
- Strong communication and problemâsolving skills
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain required government clearance
