The role involves developing design concepts, prototypes, and design systems to enhance user experience across digital platforms. You will conduct independent user research and collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure product competitiveness and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine design concepts, prototypes and visualizations to improve product competitiveness
- Collaborate with Frontend Developers to create and maintain components within the design system
- Conduct independent user testing, research and desk research to inform design decisions
- Review and evolve design standards and contribute to strategic product planning
- Communicate ideas and gather feedback from stakeholders and service providers
- Participate in product planning, review, retrospective and refinement meetings
- Support visual design tasks and graphic creation when needed
Requirements
- Professional or academic background in Design, Media Design, Software Development or related field
- Several years of experience developing digital products, preferably in journalism or media
- Proficiency with Figma, Jira, Slack, Adobe Creative Suite and Asana
- Proven ability to independently organize and execute user research projects (interviews, surveys, usability tests)
- Familiarity with AI‑powered tools such as Claude, Figma AI and large language models
- Fluency in German at C1 level or higher, both written and spoken
