Product Design Engineering (CAD)

The role involves creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D technical drawings for new product development across multiple consumer segments. It focuses on transforming industrial design concepts into manufacturable CAD models specifically for plastic injection and blow molding.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain parametric 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings for parts and assemblies
- Produce engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation following Newell standards
- Apply DFM principles for injection and blow molding, recommending resins and tooling optimizations
- Collaborate with Industrial Design to translate aesthetic concepts into manufacturable designs
- Support cross‑segment product development projects and manage design data in PLM
- Prepare CAD data for prototyping, conduct tolerance analysis, and validate designs with test teams
- Provide moldability recommendations and participate in mold design reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plastics/Polymer Engineering or related field
- Proven experience as a CAD designer for plastic consumer products
- Strong proficiency with 3D/2D CAD (SolidWorks, CREO, or NX) including surfacing and GD&T
- In‑depth knowledge of injection and blow molding processes and polymer resins
- Intermediate English for technical reading and communication
- Experience with mold/tooling design and simulation (e.g., Moldflow) is preferred
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (Windchill) and BOM management
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects across segments
