Senior Design Engineer, North America AMZL Design Engineering

The Senior Design Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of delivery station infrastructure and process improvements across the North American network. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow, site layouts, and equipment integration to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop building layouts, material flow, labor placement, and conveyor systems for new and existing delivery stations
- Create and release engineering designs for approval and deployment
- Provide process expertise on engineering design, packaging profiles, and site layout components
- Collaborate with Design Managers, CAD drafters, Real Estate Transaction managers, architects, equipment suppliers, finance, and capacity planning teams
- Standardize design practices across North America and share best practices with European and worldwide counterparts
- Lead continuous process and design benchmark initiatives and deepâdive studies
- Support design quality control to achieve zeroâdefect designs
- Implement new design standards, templates, and safety processes
- Drive solutions for recurring process issues and improvement projects
- Facilitate crossâfunctional project reviews and implement mechanisms to increase design scale, speed, and quality
- Travel up to 25% for site visits and stakeholder engagements
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience managing largeâscale engineering projects
- 6+ years leading crossâfunctional teams through launch and goâlive phases
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering or related field
- Strong technical background in automated or nonâautomated material handling equipment
- Experience as an Industrial, Operations, Manufacturing, Design, or Project Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fastâpaced environment
