Graphic Designer - Marketing and Communications - FT Support

The Graphic Designer serves as the lead visual communications specialist, providing strategic art direction and executing institution-wide design initiatives. The role involves developing accessible visual materials, managing brand standards, and providing professional photography and event support.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic art direction and visual planning for institution‑wide graphic design initiatives
• Develop accessible visual communications, including photography and event visuals, that advance Humber’s priorities and recruitment goals
• Lead design and accessibility compliance for high‑profile reports, executive and government‑facing materials, and integrated print, digital, and photographic communications
• Determine visual strategies, design methodologies, and production standards from concept through final delivery
• Plan and deliver professional photography services and on‑location event support
• Steward Humber’s visual identity by interpreting, applying, and enforcing brand standards and accessibility guidelines
• Organize, govern, and maintain centralized design assets within the Digital Asset Management system
• Research emerging graphic design tools, industry trends, and AI‑assisted technologies and integrate them responsibly into workflows

Requirements

• Minimum five years of progressive graphic design experience in a large, complex organization
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud across web, digital, presentation, and print platforms
• In‑depth knowledge of AODA and accessibility compliance requirements
• Extensive experience designing for digital and interactive environments such as websites, social media, email campaigns, and digital advertising
• Experience creating print‑based materials like publications, reports, brochures, and marketing collateral
• Strong portfolio demonstrating photography, video production, and event‑related visual communications
• 4‑year degree or equivalent
