Design and produce high-quality print and digital marketing materials, including event collateral and social media graphics, to support institutional priorities. Collaborate with various departments to translate project briefs into visual concepts that align with brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce high‑quality print and digital materials supporting marketing, advancement, events, and institutional priorities
- Create and update event collateral including invitations, save‑the‑dates, programs, signage, name badges, displays, and donor materials
- Develop graphics for email campaigns, websites, social media, digital advertising, and other online communications
- Design and format presentations, briefing materials, proposals, reports, and sponsorship documents
- Support creative needs for facility transformation, new exhibits, immersive technology, and major public initiatives
- Translate briefs and messaging into compelling visual concepts that align with UNC and department brand standards
- Adapt existing designs into multiple sizes, formats, and applications while maintaining visual consistency
- Prepare production‑ready files and coordinate specifications for commercial printing, signage, and displays
- Edit, retouch, crop, and optimize photography and other visual assets for print and digital use
- Maintain organized project files, source assets, fonts, images, and final production assets
- Collaborate with Advancement, Marketing, Programs, Guest Relations, and other staff to understand objectives and meet communication needs
- Incorporate feedback and complete revisions efficiently, often within short production timelines
- Provide design support for high‑priority, time‑sensitive projects as needed
- Review finished materials for visual quality, brand consistency, accuracy, accessibility, and production readiness
- Coordinate with external printers, vendors, photographers, or other creative partners when necessary
- Help strengthen and maintain a consistent visual identity across the department’s communications portfolio
Requirements
- 3‑5 years of experience in graphic design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high‑quality print and digital work
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Experience designing event collateral such as invitations, signage, programs, and displays
- Strong layout, typography, color, and composition skills
- Ability to prepare files for professional printing with correct bleed, crop, and color profiles
- Experience creating graphics optimized for web, email, social media, and digital advertising
- Ability to adapt assets across multiple formats and platforms efficiently
- Strong attention to detail, proofreading, and brand consistency
- Excellent organizational and file‑management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfort with receiving feedback and making rapid revisions
