Senior UI/UX Designer - Project-Based Contract
Angel City Chorale Remote (🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States of America)
The designer will conduct a comprehensive UX audit and develop a strategic redesign for the organization's website. They are responsible for creating responsive wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and a reusable component library that aligns with the existing brand identity.
Responsibilities
- Perform heuristic evaluation of the existing website focusing on usability, IA, accessibility, and content priorities
- Research comparable choir, performing‑arts, and nonprofit websites
- Develop recommendations for audience segmentation, content strategy, user journeys, and feature priorities
- Revise sitemap and information architecture
- Create responsive wireframes and high‑fidelity designs for 8‑12 key page templates
- Define visual design direction aligned with the existing brand
- Establish web typography system meeting accessibility standards
- Design for English and Spanish language content
- Build a reusable component and pattern library (navigation, buttons, cards, forms, etc.)
- Prepare design files, specifications, and documentation for developer handoff
- Present work at milestones and incorporate stakeholder feedback
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools
- Experience conducting UX audits and turning findings into design recommendations
- Ability to create information architecture, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and reusable design systems
- Collaborative experience with marketing teams, stakeholders, and developers
- Portfolio demonstrating comparable UI/UX redesign projects
- Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG AA), and SEO‑related UX considerations
