Lead Water Systems Engineer, DC Design Engineering

The Lead Water Systems Engineer will oversee the design, documentation, and implementation of water treatment systems for global data centers. This role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with design standards, local codes, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvement of water‑treatment design standards and project approaches
• Review third‑party vendor concepts for compliance with standards and local codes
• Provide high‑quality water‑treatment advice on global projects
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning and risk‑management teams for RFIs and value‑engineering
• Ensure code compliance, design and installation standards, and testing/inspection processes
• Prepare detailed water‑treatment and sustainability designs meeting design standards
• Act as subject‑matter expert, reviewing or performing design work as needed
• Support contractors with information for building data centers and enable operations teams
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across design, construction, commissioning and operations
• Travel up to 25% of the time

Requirements

• 4+ years industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities
• 4+ years commissioning experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience researching new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment
• Experience reading, interpreting and creating construction drawings and specifications
