The role involves translating complex product requirements into intuitive user journeys and high-fidelity designs for a digital learning platform. Additionally, the position requires leading the UX/UI team through mentoring, design reviews, and quality oversight.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements and user needs into user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity designs
- Own product design from concept through developer‑ready specifications and implementation support
- Create polished, responsive and accessible experiences in Figma for desktop, tablet and mobile
- Identify usability issues, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement
- Challenge requirements constructively and propose alternative solutions
- Contribute to and maintain the RightSteps Design System
- Work closely with Product and Engineering throughout discovery, design, handoff and implementation
- Provide day‑to‑day direction, guidance, mentoring and design support to the UX/UI team
- Review designers’ work and give clear, constructive feedback
- Act as the first level of UX/UI approval ensuring designs meet requirements, accessibility and standards
- Coordinate design priorities, identify blockers and delivery risks
- Lead design reviews and promote holistic user‑journey thinking
- Review implemented experiences with Engineering to ensure fidelity to design
Requirements
- 3–4 years of professional Product Design experience
- Strong portfolio with 1–3 detailed product case studies
- Advanced working knowledge of Figma
- Strong UX, UI and interaction‑design fundamentals
- Experience creating user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and responsive designs
- Experience with design systems and reusable components
- Ability to take designs from requirements to developer handoff
- Evidence of mentoring or providing design direction to other designers
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong ownership, communication and attention to detail
