UX Designer
Centraal Bureau Voor De Statistiek 🇳🇱 Heerlen, Limburg, Netherlands
The role involves designing user-friendly digital solutions for data collection applications and establishing UX design as a structural part of the organization's development process. You will create wireframes and prototypes, conduct qualitative user research, and collaborate with Agile IT teams to implement inclusive and accessible designs.
Responsibilities
- Design user‑friendly solutions for questionnaires, web and mobile applications focused on data collection
- Create user flows, wireframes and low‑ and high‑fidelity clickable prototypes
- Plan and conduct qualitative user research, involving users and stakeholders, and translate findings into design improvements
- Improve existing layouts, interactions and concepts using interaction, visual and content design principles
- Design according to CBS brand guidelines with attention to accessibility and inclusivity, extending design systems and component libraries
- Collaborate with developers and product owners for proper design handoff, working within Agile teams (Jira, Confluence)
- Present design proposals, justify decisions and involve stakeholders at appropriate stages
- Advocate the value of UX design within CBS, contribute to vision, knowledge sharing and positioning of UX in application development
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands‑on UX or UX/UI design experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Industrial Design, Communication Design or related field
- Extensive experience with Figma (mandatory)
- Strong background in qualitative user research and iterative design in Agile environments
- Experience with design systems, component libraries and content design for mobile and web
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills, self‑driven and results‑oriented
- Knowledge of digital accessibility and WCAG guidelines (plus)
- Familiarity with front‑end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) (plus)
- Experience designing digital questionnaires (plus)
- Interest in AI‑assisted design workflows (plus)
