Lead the design of digital and physical experiences for robotic workstations, ensuring seamless interaction between screen interfaces and physical workflows. Conduct field research and collaborate cross-functionally to define interaction models that prioritize safety, efficiency, and ergonomics for a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Design across the digital-physical spectrum including workstation screen interfaces, and physical affordances like light and sound
  • Define interaction models for interfaces optimized for safety, efficiency, accuracy, and comfort
  • Design accessible workflows considering visual, auditory, and haptic feedback
  • Create scalable mechanisms and reusable design patterns
  • Lead UX research efforts with our product partners in the field
  • Partner cross-functionally with hardware engineering, software engineering, product management, industrial design, and operations
  • Mentor junior designers and elevate UX maturity across the organization
  • Advocate for the Associate by bringing field-grounded insights into roadmap and prioritization discussions
  • Synthesize quantitative operational data with qualitative field insights to inform design priorities and trade-offs
  • Produce written and visual artifacts that influence product roadmaps and senior leadership decisions

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Available online portfolio
  • 5+ years of hands-on work with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design experience
  • Experience building complex software systems
  • Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or UX Design, Industrial Design, or related field
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and defining UX strategy in innovation problem spaces
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design across both digital interfaces and physical/environmental touchpoints
