Lead the design of digital and physical experiences for robotic workstations, ensuring seamless interaction between screen interfaces and physical workflows. Conduct field research and collaborate cross-functionally to define interaction models that prioritize safety, efficiency, and ergonomics for a diverse workforce.
Responsibilities
- Design across the digital-physical spectrum including workstation screen interfaces, and physical affordances like light and sound
- Define interaction models for interfaces optimized for safety, efficiency, accuracy, and comfort
- Design accessible workflows considering visual, auditory, and haptic feedback
- Create scalable mechanisms and reusable design patterns
- Lead UX research efforts with our product partners in the field
- Partner cross-functionally with hardware engineering, software engineering, product management, industrial design, and operations
- Mentor junior designers and elevate UX maturity across the organization
- Advocate for the Associate by bringing field-grounded insights into roadmap and prioritization discussions
- Synthesize quantitative operational data with qualitative field insights to inform design priorities and trade-offs
- Produce written and visual artifacts that influence product roadmaps and senior leadership decisions
Requirements
- 7+ years of design experience
- Available online portfolio
- 5+ years of hands-on work with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design experience
- Experience building complex software systems
- Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or UX Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and defining UX strategy in innovation problem spaces
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design across both digital interfaces and physical/environmental touchpoints
