Senior Manager, Product Design Engineering, Pixel Phones

Google is looking for a Senior Manager in Product Design Engineering to lead the design of the next generation of Pixel phones. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering, product design, and leading multiple engineering teams. The role involves collaborating with vendors and external sources to manufacture parts and managing varied responsibilities across the product.

Responsibilities

• Apply design, engineering, and technical expertise designing complex systems from concept to mass production
• Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and develop corrective actions
• Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process
• Anticipate and address product design issues or risks, analyze data, and validate product design to suggest or implement design improvements
• Manage the product design, provide guidance to team members, and communicate progress, and request feedback to prevent/remove roadblocks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 12 years of experience designing mechanical components
• 12 years of experience taking consumer electronics projects from concept to mass production
• 12 years of experience using computer-aided design tools
• 4 years of experience leading multiple engineering teams
