Senior Road Design Manager- Southeast

Lead road and highway design projects from concept through construction for DOT and local government clients. Oversee technical teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior engineers while supporting business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead road design projects from concept through construction
- Oversee technical design teams, ensuring compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and local standards
- Serve as the primary client liaison for project delivery, quality, and performance
- Review design calculations, plans, and specifications
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers
- Support proposal development and business growth through technical leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina and/or South Carolina (or ability to become registered within six months)
- 10-15 years of road design experience
- Experience managing or being 'in charge of all aspects of design' for a project
- Familiarity with state DOT standards - in this case, specifically North/South Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT/SCDOT) design manuals, plan-preparation guides, and other related regulations and processes
- Proficiency in relevant design software/tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
